Therapy in York and online

WELCOME

Hello, I'm Laura and I'm a UKCP registered psychotherapist working in central York and online.
I work with people who are feeling stuck. They know they want things to change, but when they try to take action, they hit a brick wall.
I help people identify what's in their way, and what they really want for their lives, giving them the freedom to make informed decisions and real changes.
Areas of focus
People come to me for help with a wide variety of challenges.
Here are some of the issues I can work with (including links to articles I've written with more information):
-
Anxiety and stress
-
Depression
-
Work-life balance, burnout, career change and other work-related issues
-
Low self-worth
-
Feeling lost or stuck, or an absence of purpose and meaning
-
Sense of being empty, or not knowing who one truly is
-
Creative blocks or feeling that one does not have permission to be creative
-
Relationship and family challenges

About me
I’m a UKCP registered psychotherapist working in York and online.
I’ve been working with clients since 2018: first as a trainee in a voluntary capacity and, from 2023, as a qualified psychotherapist.
I trained for five years at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education in Little Venice, London. I hold a postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I'm a full clinical psychotherapist member of the UKCP. This means that I’m bound by the UKCP's code of ethics. I undertake regular continuing professional development.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I worked as a lawyer in a public institution and in private practice in the City of London. I hold a BA in Modern Foreign Languages.
